Soham Banerjee

Soham Banerjee is a filmmaker, director, and media professional based in London. He trained at METFilm School, where he directed and edited Baby Dear — a short film that follows the quiet intimacy between a mother and her son, where the relationship unfolds almost entirely through gesture, silence, and presence.

I met Soham earlier this year while studying at LBS. He's someone deeply passionate about how film can be used to convey stories and bring people together. He shared Baby Dear with me — a beautifully shot short he directed and edited at METFilm School — and it immediately struck me. It's a film where so much of the relationship between a mother and her son is communicated through action and movement, with very little needing to be said.
