Odon, an artist from Angola, arrived in South Africa in 2000 with only $10 in his pocket. Despite humble beginnings, he chased his artistic passion and settled in Langa, Cape Town, finding shelter in his uncle's modest art studio in a shack.

I was connected to Odon by Wandile, one of our guides during a class seminar in Cape Town. Odon's art wows me for its use of sand that makes experiencing it online only a fraction of the artistry. His work goes beyond capturing safari but rather provides viewers with the raw emotion and grit of these amazing creatures.
